Office of Professional Standards

The Matcom Office of Public Safety’s Office of Professional Standards/Internal Affairs is dedicated to upholding the integrity of our Public Safety Officers, Communications Personnel, Detectives, Supervisors, and all agency staff. We conduct thorough and impartial investigations into any allegations of misconduct. This office plays a crucial role in helping the agency maintain its credibility and reputation with both its members and the public it serves. It handles all complaints from clients, city, state, and federal agencies, and the general public, covering issues such as abuse of authority, excessive force, ethnic slurs, and civil rights violations. Additionally, it accepts complaints from department members against other employees and is responsible for tracking and maintaining files on all complaints.
