MTAC- MULTIPLE THREAT ASSESSMENT CENTER
The MTAC - Private Sector is managed by the Matcom Office of Protective Services (MOPS). It leverages MOPS's nationwide presence and a blend of law enforcement, counterintelligence, intelligence, and security capabilities to detect various threat indicators. Security analysts and telecommunications personnel operate within the MTAC 24/7, generating alerts about potential terrorist activities, foreign intelligence threats, severe weather events (such as hurricanes and tornadoes), power outages, and criminal threats that could impact community operations.
Established in December 2017, the MTAC was created to tackle domestic terrorist threats in the communities and properties we safeguard. It embodies the diverse mission of MOPS by integrating information on terrorism, counterintelligence, intelligence, cyber threats, criminal activities, and security. The MTAC stands out as a unique platform that combines intelligence from various agencies with insights from MOPS's source networks and global law enforcement efforts, ensuring the most pertinent operational support for MOPS commanders across the nation.
